About the Museum

Our Story

Founded by dedicated community volunteers, the Columbus Museum has been a cornerstone of local history preservation. Housed in a historic building at 100 S Tennessee Ave, the museum features ten unique exhibits. The building is also home to the Genealogy Library, which is run by its own separate board and serves family history researchers from around the country.

Our Exhibits

From a giant ball of twine to a Frisco caboose, our ten exhibits share the people and places that shaped Columbus, Kansas. Admission is always free.
