Columbus Sports Hall of Fame
Celebrating the outstanding athletes and coaches from Columbus and Cherokee County who made their mark in sports at every level, with letter jackets, trophies, and team photos.
Coming Soon: An Expanded Sports Hall of Fame
Concept rendering of the planned expansion. Final design may change.
The Columbus Sports Hall of Fame is growing. Its new home will be the McCollum Addition, made possible by the generous support of the McCollum family. The expansion will bring new professional displays, better storytelling, and room to honor even more of the athletes and teams who put Columbus on the map.
Our stories reach well beyond Columbus, including world champion boxer Rube Ferns, Olympic archer Dennis McCormack, world champion rodeo competitor Bennie Edmondson, and major league pitcher Raleigh Aitchison, alongside generations of outstanding Columbus athletes and teams.
The new space will also feature a case dedicated to Anita McCollum, along with Columbus school memorabilia she has saved over the years, including retired lockers, a section of the old gym floor, and a basketball goal.
Memberships and donations keep the museum open and help make projects like this possible.
